Brief Description:
To negotiate and secure applicable sites associated with the MTN network infrastructure and ensure a continuous flow of sites, with all the required permits, for build by the Access Implementation department. To maintain current leases and permits and ensure relationship management with applicable property owners.
Detailed Description
Key Tasks: Site Acquisition: • Obtain the necessary property owner permissions for the applicable MTN installation required. • Arrange for site survey to take place with applicable persons . • To identify and understand what permits are required and ensuring that the appropriate quotations are received from the appointed consultants. • To ensure that the documentation supplied by the consultants is accurate and records the appropriate information as detailed on the site survey. • To ensure consultants receive the required MTN documentation which they may need for onward submissions to the applicable Authority. • To build relationships with the applicable Local Authorities, as well as the property owner. • To follow up with Authorities and consultants to obtain the applicable documentation in order to release the site for build. • To negotiate and finalise the lease with the property owner. • To ensure all appropriate permits are obtained are accurate and received timeously • To manage consultants in terms of their existing contracts Maintenance: • On notification of the imminent expiry/or change to a lease, negotiate and finalise the lease renewal or addendum. • Should a property undergo change of ownership, ensure the completion and signature of the Assignment of Rights. • In cases where certain local authority approvals are temporary in nature, ensure that these are extended or renewed prior to expiry. • In cases where the Environmental Authorisation (EA) is about to expire, consult with the relevant internal departments and, if still required, arrange for the EA to be renewed or extended. Ad Hoc: • Handle and process property related complaints or requests. • Act as interface between MTN departments and the property owners or various Authorities. • Provide information pertaining to the property function to the MTN departments on request. Database Control and Record Keeping: • Ensure that the property database is accurate and up to date. • Ensure that all filing and paperwork is accurate, complete and up to date. Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks: Management of LA and EIA Consultants: • Ensure that the consultants appointed on your projects comply with legislative requirements as well as MTN’s Policies and procedures. • Ensure that the consultants are monitored and that NIMS is being updated accurately in association with their appointed permit that they need to obtain. • Ensure that if there are objections to a project that such objections are recorded on NIMS and that the relevant Line Manager is notified on who should attend to the objectors requirements • Ensure that the consultants receive all applicable documentation from MTN departments in order to bring about the appropriate permit as fast as possible.
Job Requirements
