SALARY – R5200


One of the top Five Star Hotels situated in Cape Town is seeking to employ a Commis Chef who will be reporting to the Executive Chef / Sous Chef on duty.

The Ideal candidate must have:-
Minimum Grade 12 (Std. 10)
3 year diploma in professional cookery
2 years experience in a similar position within the hospitality industry
Excellent Communication Skills
To work as part of a team as well as independently

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and ensure that hygiene levels are maintained
at all times and adhered to
Report injuries to the Executive Chef
Ensure maximum guest satisfaction by contributing to the effectiveness of the kitchen operations
Create a sense of teamwork within the kitchen
Responsible to operate within the policies and procedures as set out in the operating manual
Ensure that standards are maintained within the kitchen and own department at all times
Contributes to the profitability of the department, by maintaining a high standard of service,
presentation and efficiency
Work all sections of the kitchen
