Home schooling Teacher
Looking for a primary school Teacher to Home schooling an 11 years old boy for grade 5 and a 9 years old boy for grade 3 for the year of 2015.
The classes will take place at students’ residence in Higgovale, Cape Town. The residence has two separate rooms, one for each student. Teacher shall teach both students simultaneously.
Home schooling will follow the SA academic curriculum and all material will be provided by the parent. It will follow the SA academic calendar open to small changes when needed always pre-discussed with both parties. Kids have been Home schooled since last year.
Home schooling is a flexible work and included travelling with students if the opportunity comes and it is during academic calendar and holidays are not possible to be given.
Working hours: Full-time teacher work with typical class times starting from 9am and finishing around 2 – 2.30pm with snack time and break time in between from Monday to Friday. Teacher will spend from the end of class until 4 planning lessons, marking work and also taking part in activities, such as parents’ meetings, taking boys to extra activities and bringing back home and outings. Teacher will be responsible for preparation of snack and for taking students to library once a week. If babysitting (watch over them at home, as eg.) is requested teacher shall be available if during working hours or agreed upon.

Teacher will teach subjects covered by the SA primary national curriculum at Key Stage 2 (7 to 11) subjects such as Afrikaans, science, art and life skills will be part of the curriculum.
All duties related to Home Schooling will follow under all duties related to a qualified Teacher and shall be request term reports and exams as well as parent meetings when needed.
Plan lessons and teaching materials, mark and assess children’s work, manage kids behavior, discuss children’s progress and other relevant matters with parents and attend meetings and training, organize outings, social activities and sports events.
Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree, Foundation phase (grades R-3) and Intermediate & Senior phases (grades 4-6 & 7-9)
Remuneration: Initial of R 10.000 + snack and lunch at premises
