Job Purpose The Department of Comunity Safety, Western Cape Government is seeking to employ a qualified individual to promote and facilitate departmental performance monitorin, evaluation, review and reporting. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, creative, innovative, pragmatic and assertive. This post is stationed in Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements • A 3 year B-Degree/National Diploma as recognised by SAQA); • A minimum of 3 years’ management experience in a project management environment; • A valid code B drivers licence
Recommendation A qualification in Project Management and Specialised Monitoring and Evaluation; • Preferably 5 years’ experience in a monitoring and evaluation environment
Key Performance Areas • To facilitate collaboration with Senior Managers in the development of Strategic directives and operations programmes • To facilitate in collaboration with Senior managers in the development of operational projects • Act as Monitoring and Evaluation coordinator for strategic directives/operational programmes for internal and external projects• Champion the entrenchment of performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting in the normal management process of the department’s line and staff function components• Proactively facilitate organisational performance monitoring and reporting as per departmental strategic , annual performance plans and service delivery improvement plans • Proactively facilitate programme and project performance monitoring and reporting as per provincial strategic objectives and other requirements • Coordinate policy and strategy impact assessments in conjunction with line functionaries • Facilitate alignment of departmental policies, strategic planning and budget process • Facilitate the compliance reporting requirements as prescribed
• Component management, control, monitoring of the Sub-Directorate.
Competencies • Knowledge of the following: • Programme and Project Management methodologies • Strategic alignment processes; • Programme/project monitoring and evaluation concepts • Monitoring and Evaluation budgeting and planning policies
• Performance management systems and processes • Modern systems of governance and administration • Policies of the government of the day • National and Provincial treasury Regulations and guidelines in respect of reporting; • Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
Remuneration R 612 822 – R 721 878 per annum – Salary level 11 (all-inclusive salary package).

Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.
MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.
Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
