Job Purpose | The Western Cape Government is seeking to employ a qualified individual to investigate and follow-up debt relating to outstanding motor vehicle registration and licence fees and revenue protection matters. This position is stationed in Cape Town. |
Minimum Requirements | • B-Degree/National Diploma (as recognised by SAQA) with a minimum of 1 year relevant administration experience; or • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification), plus a minimum of 6 years’ relevant administration experience; • 3 years’ appropriate Road Traffic legislation experience; • A valid code B (08) driving licence and willingness to travel regulary away from the office. |
Recommendation | • Ability to interpret legislation; • Working knowledge of motor vehicle registration and licensing processes. |
Key Performance Areas | • Investigate the following: o Condition of motor vehicles in respect of applications for the deregistration of a motor vehicle; o Application for the special classification of motor vehicles in respect of the payment of licence fees; o Tare reduction of motor vehicles; o Application for registration as motor dealer and dealer stocking of motor vehicles. • Responsible for the collection of outstanding registration and licence fees; • Follow up and obtain financial statements from members of the public who apply for the write off of outstanding motor vehicle licence fees; • Liaise with various clients and stakeholders. |
Competencies | • Knowledge of the following: o National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000; o National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS); • Advanced investigation skills; • Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; • Proven computer literacy in MS package; • Planning, organising and research skills. |
Remuneration | R 262 272 – R 308 943 per annum (Salary level 8)
