A consummate retail professional is required for the role of Lead Sales Consultant – Retail Solutions for
Fujitsu South Africa, based in Cape Town. Fujitsu is a highly regarded Tier 1 retail technology and solutions
supplier with a significant global market share.
As a new strategic pillar to Fujitsu South Africa’s Solutions portfolio, this role requires the incumbent to
implement the retail strategy for Southern Africa in line with Fujitsu’s global retail strategy, leverage the
global success with large retailers across the globe and ultimately, grow Fujitsu’s retail footprint in SA.
The ability to engage at senior levels within the client base as well as various levels of seniority within the
international Fujitsu Group will be essential. Knowledge of the retail offering which includes products,
solutions and services is vital to the success of this position.
Proven experience operating in this dynamic, fast-paced environment and a demonstrable ability to engage
with and influence senior decision-makers is essential.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated, have a successful sales track record within the retail
industry and an entrepreneurial mind-set.
. Matric and relevant Bachelors’ degree/certifications or proof of equivalency in business experience;
. Ability to establish and maintain relationships at executive and senior decision-maker levels;
. Minimum 5 years’ retail sales experience;
. Strong negotiation skills;
. Strong interpersonal skills;
. Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken;

. Sales acumen;
. Relationship management – both internally and externally;
. Extensive knowledge of retail solutions;
. Ability to translate complex customer requirements into viable solution offerings;
. Understanding and planning of financial scenarios e.g. Profit and Loss, and Total Cost of Ownership;
. Understanding and appreciation of project management principles;
. Ability to function within multi-cultural environments across geographic regions;
. Ability to articulate and present Fujitsu’s retail value proposition;
. Ability to demonstrate value in the first instance of an offering;
. Professional writing skills;
Role and responsibilities:
. Business development;
. Act as a “Trusted Advisor” to retailers;
. Identify and qualify opportunities to establish a pipeline in line with financial targets;
. Identify and influence decision makers, influencers and stakeholders until contract conclusion stage;
. Establish and maintain strong working relationships within the Fujitsu group as well as relevant 3rd parties;
. Ensure adequate risk management is in place;
. Assisting delivery teams as and when required;
. Comply with Fujitsu policies, and;
. Reporting – monthly, quarterly and annually, both internally and externally.
