A National food company importing non- perishable foods is seeking a National Sales Manager based in Cape Town. Regular travel to regions is a requirement of the position. A minimum of a matric is essential, and a tertiary marketing qualification is a definite advantage. At least three years’ experience in a sales management/key accounts role, preferably with FMCG’s, is required. The ability to think and act strategically is essential.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage all sales activities nationally in order to achieve set sales targets monthly, quarterly and annually
Recruit, select, train and develop staff in regions to ensure optimum levels of customer service and sales effectiveness
Manage processes to evaluate and monitor performance of staff at all levels in the region to ensure that staff are performing in accordance with company standards
Participate in sales meetings with Regional/Field Sales Managers, Sales representatives and merchandisers
Regularly visit areas nationally and assess performance against set standards
Take the necessary corrective action to ensure that employees adhere to the required standards of behavior and performance.
Ensure sales administration processes are carried out effectively and efficiently
Develop, suggest and implement sales and promotion strategies in your region to achieve set sales targets.
Liaise with customers, particularly key account customers,as and when required, to effectively carry out your functions.
