About the role:

My client has an exciting & challenging role available for an experienced Payroll Officer who is highly meticulous and enjoys working in a fast-paced and pressurized working environment.  The successful applicant will take responsibility for the administration of the company’s payroll, including the timely and accurate capturing and delivery of payroll, and capturing and administration of all related HR systems and preparation of HR reports.

Key performance area:

·      Accurate, timeous and consistent end to end processing of company payroll (monthly salaries; annual increases and bonuses)

·      Maintenance of payroll system and leave administration system

·      Processing and administration of all additional pay related allowances (i.e. standby allowance, shift allowance, subsidized meals etc.)

·      Responsible for accurate and complaint payroll system setup

·      Updating and maintaining payroll records

·      Administration and maintenance of employee benefits in accordance with Committee decisions, Fund rules and Remuneration Policy

·      Liaising with staff and management on payroll and employee benefit related queries

·      Manage and conduct month-end and year-end statutory requirements

·      Reconciliation and payment of PAYE, UIF and SDL

·      Reconciliation of payroll related GL accounts

·      Liaison with Compensation Fund

·      Meet monthly, bi-annual and annual statutory deadlines

·      Develop and maintain payroll SOP

·      Accurate and timeous delivery of ad hoc, monthly and annual HR Reports

 

Requirements:

·      Grade 12

·      3 year HR degree/ diploma

·      Minimum 5 years’ working experience on a payroll and HR systems (preferably VIP)

·      Experience in financial services and/or call centre environment will be advantageous

·      Software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint

·      Sound knowledge and experience in payroll (VIP) and HR Information systems (VIP HR Premier and ESS) processing

·      Sound knowledge and experience of PAYE and statutory compliance and understanding of employee benefits

·      Sound knowledge and experience of payroll reconciliation processes

·      Knowledge of Labour Legislation, specifically Skills Development, Employment Equity and BCEA, and Tax regulations as it relates to remuneration practices
