Based at our Cape Town office, the successful candidate will provide pre-sales technical support on Fujitsu products and Infrastructure Solutions to assist the sales force in meeting targets for the region. While the focus area for this role will be the Western Cape, it is anticipated that the successful incumbent will be required to occasionally support sales campaigns in other regions, including Gauteng.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent through other qualifications / work experience;
Demonstrable and successful track record in the design of IT Infrastructure Solutions;
Broad knowledge of IT industry and Infrastructure Solutions ;
3+ years experience in the design of Infrastructure Solutions;
Demonstrable knowledge of the design considerations, technologies and tools enabling Virtualisation and Consolidation within the Data Centre and/or Virtual Client Computing;
Appropriate accreditation / certification including one or more of Citrix (CCIA), VMWare (VCP v5), MCSE with HyperV.

Design of IT Infrastructure Solutions
Support sales staff, including preparation of all technical information needed for selling Infrastructure Solutions;
Provides technical advice on optimal solution construct; for submitting proposals/tenders, upgrading existing installations;
Extracts and analyses customer requirements to ensure the solution meets the customer need at the correct cost point;
Is accountable and responsible for the solution and Fujitsu’s ability to implement and deliver the solution as designed;
Is responsible for the development and optimization of all costs for the solution;
Is responsible for technical input for proof of concept and business approval meetings and makes a recognised technical contribution;
Identifies, assesses and minimizes risk associated with the solution;
Maximises the use of Fujitsu standard portfolio;
Shares knowledge and makes a useful contribution to the knowledge base;
Works with the designated bid teams to deliver winning solutions for qualified opportunities;
Delivers feedback to Portfolio Manager and delivery organizations to shape portfolio and service element development;
Stays abreast of industry trends and the Fujitsu product portfolio;
Own Proof of concept creation, assisting in definition of success measures and leading the implementation team in achievement of these measures;
Configure and size IT solutions / coordinate achievement of solution design;
Deliver customer / partner presentations, training and workshops;
Interface function to the product group managers;
Is seen as an expert and thought leader in the area of Infrastructure Solutions both internal and external to Fujitsu;
Establishes an internal/external business network with customer middle management and technical staff to understand current and future needs and identify new business opportunities.
Key Performance Indicators
Solution Designs result in winning proposals;
Consistently produces designs, which require minimal rework, following review;
Provides evidence that demonstrates the ability to design a solution at the appropriate optimised cost point;
Uses company prescribed processes and methodologies for development of solutions and their approvals;
Demonstrates the maximisation of Fujitsu standard portfolio and delivery capability in their designs;
Regular contribution to, and user of, company knowledge repositories and events.
