Requirements

 

– A relevant National Diploma in Archival Studies and Records

Management, or a related qualifi cation

– A Certifi cate in Records Management Course presented by the

National Archive and Record Service (advantageous)

– 5 # 8 years# experience in a records management fi eld, with at

least 3 years# experience in a management/supervisory

capacity

– Project management experience

– Knowledge of National and Provincial Archives and Records

Services legislation and regulations, and associated legislations, i.e.

promotion of Access to Information Act

– Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System

(advantageous)

– A valid driver#s license (Code B)

– Computer literacy (ability to work on SAP will be advantageous).

 

Key Performance Areas

 

– Manage the implementation and maintenance of Records

Management structures and systems in the department, including

safe custody, disposal, training and communication, risk assessment

and compliance monitoring

– Personnel management

– Manage and control the mail, courier and messenger services

within

the department

– Manage the administration of both hard copy and web-based

libraries within the department

– Manage

customer and stakeholder relationships as it relates to the Records

Management function

– Identify, define and manage immediate, short and long-term

objectives/plans associated with the Records Management Section

– Manage and control the financial requirements of the Records

Management Section.
