Job Purpose
- To support the Account Executives / Account Managers in servicing a portfolio of Business, Corporate and Commercial clients
- To add value by offering attention to detail and broking skills
Ensuring that the legislative and regulatory requirements of the broking processes are followed including adherence to all SBIS Policies and Procedures, Technical Broker Manual etc.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Broking

- Quoting
- Compliance i.t.o legislation / regulations and all required documents
- Obtaining terms
- Renewals on Corporate and Commercial Accounts
- Queries / Client Service
- Confirmation of cover
- First level complaints
- Policy File Management
- Physical files
- Permanent electronic records
- Retention
- Administration
- Where necessary to accompany the Account Executive on client visits
- If requested, to prepare renewal presentations, reports and other related tasks
- Physical file audits (95% adherence to set standard)
- Full completion of Policy Capture Sheet and all required attachments
(95% compliance, i.e. no more than 5% returns over a month)
- General Service Standards (100% acknowledgment of requests within 24 hours, 100% delivery on commitments made)
- Quality of quotes and advice (Zero PI claims)
- Meeting of retention and renewal targets
- Full and accurate broking submissions to insurers
- To support the Account Executive/Account Manager/Team with new business acquisitions.
Adherence to all compulsory training and forums, submission of documents and forms required

- Must be fully FAIS Compliant
- Regulatory Exam Certificate (RE5)
- Registered FSP Representative (Category 1 and Sub-Category 1.6)
Fit and Proper as determined by FAIS legislation (Honesty, Integrity and Financial Solvency)
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
- Have a solid technical knowledge of Commercial Short Term Insurance and understanding of risk management
- Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions of the general code of conduct of authorized financial services providers and representatives (FSB Board Notice 80)
- Have a basic understanding of the financial intelligence centre act (FICA), Act 38 of 2001, and the money laundering provisions of the Prevention of Organized Crime Act
- Client services orientated
