Garment Technologist – Cape town [New]

• Working with pattern-makers to ensure the best fit and correct size in production garments
• Development of specifications and size charts
• Liaising with buyers and suppliers, and providing technical input.
• General administrative support
• Conducting of fit approvals
• Overseeing fabric testing and fittings of seal samples
• Responding to and advising on product queries and faults
• Sample development

• Relevant tertiary degree/diploma in Clothing Production Management or Fashion Design, etc
• 5 – 10 years’ experience in the quality assurance process required
• Experience in both a manufacturing and retail environment will be an advantage
• Confident computer knowledge and skill (Windows and Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook), basic skills in Corel Draw an advantage
• Sound knowledge and experience of pattern-cutting and garment construction, including stitching and manufacturing techniques
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Understanding properties of fabric
• Able to work alone and as part of a team
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
