German speaking Tour Consultant, Paarl

Our client, a growing Tourism Company in Paarl wishes to employ an experienced German speaking Tour Consultant to join their team in January 2015. The right candidate should enjoy working as part of a small team, calculating tours and compiling itineraries for both groups and FIT’s and will send the respective quotations to the clients (agencies). The position is on a full-time basis. 

Key Performance Area:

–          Bookings, cancellations and updates of bookings and rooming lists

–          Liaising with suppliers and clients from source markets

–          Preparation of travel vouchers and documentation for tour guides and coach drivers

–          Calculation of tours and quotations to clients

–          Internet research on all subjects related to tourism business

–          General office and secretarial duties

Qualifications and Experiences:

–          Matric

–          1-2 years’ experience in a similar position 

Competencies required:

–          Excellent communication skills in German and English

–          Good geographical knowledge of South Africa and neighbouring countries

–          Knowledge of the general perspectives of tourism

–          Good computer literacy (i.e. MS Office, etc.)

–          Ability to work as a member of a team

–          Attention to detail

–          Organised and flexible approach to work

–          Passion for the travel industry
